“Growing Skills, Nourishing Families” – Cattle & Agriculture Training

Date: 06-Sep-2026

Location: Satyam Community Centre

With the support of TCSF, SARVAM conducted a seven-day practical skill development training programme on Cattle and Agriculture for women from 15 villages, held at the Satyam Community Centre. The programme was designed to strengthen participants’ practical knowledge in livestock management, household food production, and sustainable livelihood opportunities, while promoting nutritious and healthy living practices.

The training adopted a participatory and hands-on learning approach, blending trainer demonstrations, group discussions, and practical exercises. Participants were guided through key areas including cattle care and livestock management, kitchen gardening, microgreens cultivation, and the preparation of millet-based energy powder. Trainers encouraged participants to actively apply the techniques learned within their own homes and farms, making the learning immediately relevant and actionable.

Through this immersive programme, participants acquired a range of valuable skills that can meaningfully impact their daily lives. The knowledge gained supports improved household nutrition, reduced food expenditure, sustainable food production, and the potential for supplementary income generation. By integrating livestock care with kitchen gardening and value-added millet products, the training offered a holistic approach to rural well-being and self-reliance.

The programme successfully equipped women from across 15 villages with practical tools to enhance household resilience, explore sustainable livelihoods, and champion healthy food practices within their families and communities.
