Stroke Awareness Programme Empowers Senior Citizens __01-11-2025On the occasion of World Stroke Day, SARVAM organised a stroke awareness programme across eight locations, reaching nearly 200 elderly participants. The initiative highlighted the importance of recognising and responding to stroke symptoms promptly, in line with the 2025 global theme – “Every Minute Counts.”

The sessions were led by resource persons who explained the signs of stroke, preventive measures, and the importance of lifestyle management, balanced nutrition, and regular health check-ups. Informative charts and visuals were used to make the concepts clear and easy to understand.

In addition to the talks, participants engaged in practical demonstrations of simple exercises, yoga postures, and breathing techniques aimed at improving circulation, reducing stress, and promoting overall wellness. The hands-on sessions were well received and helped reinforce the medical insights shared earlier.

The FAST concept—F for Face drooping, A for Arm weakness, S for Speech difficulty, and T for Time to act—was explained in detail, underscoring the need for immediate medical attention when stroke symptoms appear.

The programme concluded with a collective resolve to adopt preventive health practices and spread awareness within the community, reinforcing SARVAM’s ongoing commitment to the well-being of senior citizens.
