Voices of Change: Grama Pudiya Udayam
This journal was first published in February, 2007 and serves as a mouth piece on the activities at the SARVAM villages. The journal has become a source of information and inspiration and a platform to voice public opinion and showcase talent. The monthly is being organized and managed by the village youth with support from SARVAM. It is receiving a very good response from the community.
Out of the 950 copies printed, more than 750 copies are circulated in the villages are paid yearly subscription.It also reaches several local government offices. It is motivating youth in the vicinity to emulate constructive activities being taken up in the hamlets. The people’s participation in it is increasing and the journal has become a very good medium for SARVAM to strengthen its programmes.

Pudiya Udayam: Empowering Rural Voices
SARVAM has been permitted by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, New Delhi to set up community radio broadcasting station FM.
The Need and objective of Pudiya Udayam :
The radio through its programmes will help usurp facets of local culture and traditions and thus preserving traditional dance and music. The culture nurtured and preserved for centuries however is finding few takers in the communities due to the emergence of popular commercial media.
The community radio will meet the increasing information needs of the rural populace and also provide means to make communities more aware and involved in their process of their development.
The objective is produce and broadcast audio programs that are inclusive of all issues facing the target villages and to ensure that the community is educated, informed and entertained through these programs. An effort will be made to invite and involve community in the production and transmission of these programs. And thus create employment opportunities for the youngsters and women.
Program Production :
Pudiya Udayam Community Radio Station will produce programs on health, education, sanitation, human values and other areas of community benefit. The programs will be produced in the studio at SHARANAM complex in Perambai.
