SARVAM successfully conducted a one-day Entrepreneurship Skill Training Programme on Millet Premixes and Soups on 26 December 2025 at the Satyam Community Centre, with the support of Bandhan Bank. The programme was designed to empower 35 rural women by equipping them with practical skills and entrepreneurial knowledge to develop millet-based, nutrition-focused products. The initiative aimed to promote sustainable livelihoods by enabling participants to transform traditional food preparation practices into viable micro-enterprises.
The training was facilitated by an experienced resource person from RSETI, who delivered the sessions in a comprehensive and participatory manner. Participants received hands-on training in the preparation of nutritious millet premixes and instant soups using locally available millets. The sessions covered standardised recipes, hygienic processing techniques, quality control measures, and appropriate storage practices to ensure product safety, taste, nutrition, and shelf life. The trainer also highlighted the health benefits of millets and their growing demand in both rural and urban markets.
Beyond technical skills, the programme placed strong emphasis on entrepreneurship development. Participants were guided on cost calculation, pricing strategies, packaging, branding, and labelling requirements. They were also introduced to essential regulatory aspects, including FSSAI registration, enabling them to understand legal compliance and access relevant government schemes and institutional support.
Additionally, the programme provided insights into market opportunities, customer identification, consumer preferences, and the creation of local and broader market linkages. Overall, the training significantly enhanced participants’ confidence, practical capabilities, and entrepreneurial outlook, laying a strong foundation for income generation through millet-based micro-enterprises while contributing to improved nutrition and community well-being.
