On 8 March 2026, SARVAM organised an exposure visit for children aged 10 to 13 years from five villages as part of its educational and developmental initiatives. The visit was designed to provide students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom by experiencing cultural, historical, and environmental sites firsthand. Accompanied by SARVAM staff and volunteers, the children enthusiastically participated in the trip, which aimed to broaden their knowledge and encourage curiosity through practical learning experiences.
During the visit, the children were first taken to the historic Thirunavalur Temple, where they learned about the temple’s history, architecture, and cultural significance. The students listened attentively as elders and guides explained the traditions, stories, and heritage associated with the temple. For many of the children, this was their first visit to such an ancient and culturally significant place, making the experience both exciting and educational.

The group also visited the Parikkal Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, a well-known spiritual site in the region. Here, the children learned about the deity worshipped at the temple and the beliefs and customs followed by devotees. The visit encouraged the students to ask questions, share their thoughts, and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural and spiritual traditions practiced by people in the region.
The final destination of the exposure visit was Veedur Dam, where the students were introduced to the importance of dams in water storage, irrigation, and agriculture. Observing the vast water body and the surrounding natural environment helped the children understand how such structures
support farming and village life. The visit also provided a relaxing and enjoyable experience as the children explored the scenic surroundings and garden areas near the dam.
Overall, the exposure visit proved to be both educational and enjoyable. The children returned home with new knowledge, a deeper appreciation for culture and nature, and many happy memories from the day. The programme successfully combined learning and recreation, making it a meaningful experience that enriched the students’ understanding of the world beyond their classrooms.
