SARVAM organized a Digital and Financial Literacy Programme for 51 women leaders from 15 project villages on July 11, 2018.

On July 15, 2018, 10 Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs) and two coordinators conducted English classes for the SARVAM students as a part of the English Access Micro Scholarship Program.

A mid-term intensive session of English Access Micro-Scholarship Program was conducted at Satyam Campus of SARVAM from May 26–28, 2018.

To commemorate the Women’s Day, Rotary Club and Inner Wheel, Puducherry, organized a Health Camp on March 11, 2018, in which doctors from Pondicherry Ortho Specialty Hospital (POSH) carried out free check-up of various ailments and diseases that especially affect women.

On March 10 and 11, 2018, Pondicherry Science Forum conducted a workshop in Puducherry on Zero-Shadow Day (ZSD) for teachers, technical professionals and science communicators from the southern states.

IITM and Sri Aurobindo Society have formalized an agreement (through an MOU) for the Institute to administer training programmes and share innovative rural technology and tools for the social and economic development of villages under Sri Aurobindo Rural & Village Action & Movement (SARVAM). 

On March 7, 2018, SARVAM organized a motivational programme to create awareness on the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and the need for toilets in each household.

SARVAM, an initiative of Sri Aurobindo Society has been conducting English Access Microscholarship Programme since 2013, through which the students in the village learn English language through varied activities and mediums.

On December 31, 2017 Dr. G. Natchiar, Co-founder, Emeritus, Director, Aravind Eye Hospital—a world-renowned doctor, visionary and legend—visits SARVAM every year and interacts with varied groups of people.

On January 9 to17, 2018, the American Councils for International Education arranged an All-India Access Summer Camp in Aamby Valley attended by 4 alumni students from SARVAM.

From January 12 to 15, 2018, SARVAM organized a Cultural Programme for the women of all the 18 villages under its project area.

Sri Aurobindo Rural & Village Action & Movement (SARVAM) has been working in 18 villages for more than a decade, and one its primary and major strategic focus areas is Education.

On October 6, 2017, a stall was arranged for the rural women of SARVAM to display their handicrafts and products for an exhibition and sale at the Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Financial Services, Chennai.

SARVAM in its poverty alleviation and economic development programmes has focused on providing better livelihood opportunities through innovative programmes of wage generation and self-employment.

With the objective of bringing about economic and social development of women and improving their status in the community the programme for Women Development, SARVAM conducted a couple of Employment and Empowerment Programmes in September 2017.

In order to address this burning issue of the country, Ashoka, one of the largest networks of social entrepreneurs worldwide with over 3,000 Ashoka Fellows in 70 countries, has started an initiative—Nourishing Schools—to enable schools to improve the nutrition of communities.
