On November 24th, coinciding with its 9th anniversary, Pudiya Udayam 91.2 CRS received a prestigious award from the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA). This recognition acknowledges the exceptional efforts of Pudiya Udayam in implementing yoga-related activities in rural villages as part of the Ministry of Ayush’s project.

The award ceremony, held at the UNESCO Building in Delhi, saw Mr. Vikram Singh, Director of the Ministry of Ayush, presenting the certificate to Ms. Poonguzhali, the station in charge, on behalf of SARVAM. The event was attended by notable figures such as Mr. G. S. Kesarwani, Additional Director of the Community Radio Cell, Mr. Hezekiel Dalmaini, UNESCO’s Advisor for Communication and Information for South Asia, and Mr. Shadrach, Director of CEMCA.

Pudiya Udayam’s impactful initiatives, especially its participation in the one-month programme promoting yoga involving 200+ community radio stations, earned the station this prestigious citation. This recognition not only celebrates the 9 years of operation but also validates the commitment of Pudiya Udayam to integral rural development.

The station’s engagement in various government projects, such as International Yoga Day and Mara Mati Mara Desh, underscores its dedication to community welfare. The CEMCA award serves as a motivating factor for the team, encouraging them to continue their commendable work in the realm of rural development.
