Empowering Youth through Appreciation: SARVAM and Aparajitha Group’s Transformative Training Programme

Date: October 19-20 ,2024

Location: 15 different village centres

On 19th and 20th October 2024, SARVAM, in collaboration with Aparajitha Group, successfully conducted a transformative training programme titled “Appreciating Each Other and Its Benefits.” This initiative focused on enhancing interpersonal relationships among youth through the power of appreciation, with the training being delivered to 475 students across 15 different villages.

The programme was meticulously structured, with the students divided into 15 batches to ensure personalised attention and meaningful engagement. The key objective of the training was to foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and empathy among the participants by teaching them the value of appreciation in both personal and professional contexts.

Throughout the training, students explored the psychological and social benefits of expressing gratitude and acknowledging the efforts of others. They learned how these simple acts could enhance motivation, improve teamwork, and create a positive atmosphere in their environments. The interactive nature of the programme enabled students to internalise these lessons through real-life application. Activities such as role-playing, group discussions, and collaborative games were used to create hands-on learning experiences, allowing participants to practice appreciation in realistic scenarios. This not only reinforced their understanding but also built their confidence in utilising appreciation to improve communication and emotional intelligence.

Music and team-building games were incorporated to make the sessions enjoyable while driving home the importance of teamwork and appreciation. These activities encouraged an inclusive and vibrant learning environment, leaving a lasting impression on the participants.

The collaboration between SARVAM and the Aparajitha Group has already yielded positive results, with students reporting improvements in their relationships with peers and a deeper understanding of the value of empathy and appreciation. By fostering such values, this programme is expected to have a long-term impact, benefiting both the students’ academic and personal lives, and ultimately contributing to the creation of more harmonious communities.

The initiative not only highlights the importance of appreciation in everyday life but also showcases the potential of collective efforts in nurturing well-rounded, emotionally intelligent individuals. This ongoing monthly programme is set to continue focusing on various aspects of human health and well-being, both at the individual and collective levels, in alignment with the principles of Integral Yoga.
