Bringing Healthcare to Rural Doorsteps: SARVAM’s Health Screening Camp

Date: January 08-09, 2025

Location: 12 Different Villages

SARVAM successfully conducted a two-day Health Screening Camp across 12 villages, benefiting over 750 people by providing essential medical check-ups. The camp focused on screening for blood pressure, diabetes, and haemoglobin deficiency, ensuring early detection and preventive care for vulnerable populations. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap in rural healthcare accessibility, offering timely medical support and health awareness to villagers who often face challenges in reaching healthcare facilities.

A dedicated Village Health Volunteer played a crucial role in the camp, assisting with the distribution of vitamin and anaemia tablets to individuals diagnosed with nutritional deficiencies. This effort helped address common health concerns, especially among women and the elderly. The collaboration between SARVAM and healthcare professionals ensured not only screenings but also immediate guidance on managing health conditions and adopting healthier lifestyles.

The response from the villagers was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their gratitude for the initiative. Access to these free medical services at their doorstep relieved them of the burden of traveling long distances for basic health check-ups. Recognizing the impact of the camp, several community members requested similar health programs in the future, highlighting the need for regular screenings to promote early diagnosis and better health management.

SARVAM remains committed to enhancing healthcare accessibility in rural areas and looks forward to organising more such initiatives to support community well-being.
