SARVAM in association with LTFS, has successfully completed 2 years of the Digital Sakhi project in more than 60 villages in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu. Last year, 100 Digital Sakhis trained around 1 lakh people on the Digital Financial Literacy modules and entitlement schemes. In continuation to the successful completion of last year’s project, approval was given to SARVAM to continue the Digital Sakhi project for the current financial year 2021-22 with 100 Digital Sakhi to reach a target of 1 lakh and 25 thousand beneficiaries.
For starting the project this year, a refreshment training was organized for the Digital Sakhis. The main objective of this training is to give all the Digital Sakhis, an overview of the DFL project and also to provide a refreshment of all the training modules.
The training addressed the various problems which the digital sakhis encountered during the last year’s project and they also provided solutions to overcome the problems. Activities such as group discussions and role plays were conducted which helped the digital sakhis to discuss and come out with solutions for the problems. New methodologies were also taught to the digital sakhis to enhance the training ways.
Due to the sudden surge in the COVID-19 virus, all these activities were conducted strictly following the guidelines laid down by the Government. Social distancing, wearing of masks, and proper sanitization were followed by all the digital sakhis.
This refreshment training, was much useful for all of them as it provided more confidence to the digital sakhis to move forward. They all were happy and got useful ideas to implement the project in various villages.
