Sarvam is working in 40 new villages for the Digital Sakhi project which is funded by the LTFS, Mumbai. This is the second successful year of the project and the project work is being done by the Digital Sakhis is all the 40 villages.
This pandemic and the resultant lockdown has brought the life of many villagers upside down.
LTFS in association with SARVAM, the rural development wing of Sri Aurobindo Society planned to distribute groceries to the 40 villagers who are having a difficult time due to COVID. Around 20,000 families were selected from these 40 villages who mainly belonged to the Schedule Caste, Most Backward Class and below poverty line. The kit comprised of Atta, Moog Dhall, Sooji etc. along with soaps, detergents, sanitizers and pamphlets on COVID 19. Most of the recipients of these kits were vulnerable and marginalized people. They were very happy for the timely help done by SARVAM along with LTFS, Mumbai.
During the delivery of the kits, the Digital Sakhis were able to easily approach the villagers and introduced them to Digital Financial transactions. Many villagers showed keen interest in knowing more about digital transactions.
