Sarvam in association with L&T Financial Services has implemented a project called Digital Financial Literacy in more than 30 villages located in the Villupuram district of Tamilnadu. The main objective of this project is to provide awareness on Digital Financial Literacy to the women in various villages and help them to involve in cashless transactions and also help them to use technology for various purposes especially in cashless transactions.
As a part of this project, wide range of trainings on motivation, leadership, upskills and skill trainings were provided for women and they are learning them with utmost interest. Nearly 475 women entrepreneurs participated in this training session.
Initially, skill training was provided for the women who were interested in small business activities. This helped all the women to learn about setting up of small firms. In continuation to this training, Sarvam organized Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP) for more than 500 Women Entrepreneurs from various villages. This training focused on planning for the business, investment, customer service and on various other aspects that are related to the enhancement of the business.
Finally, all these women entrepreneurs were trained on Digital Financial Literacy. This training focused on Cashless Transactions and all women were trained on the methods of cashless transactions. The other types of digital transactions were also taught to the women entrepreneurs. ATM, Credit Card, QR Code, AEPS, Digital E-Wallet, USSD and various other aspects were explained in detail practically. All the women entrepreneurs were asked to do transactions during the training and this helped them to understand the process easily. Their doubts were also clarified during the training.
The women entrepreneurs were divided in 12 batches and each batch comprised of 40 to 45 women entrepreneurs. The training programme went on for a whole day and all the women entrepreneurs felt more confident after attending the training. Most of them said that they will involve in cashless transactions and they also said that they will motivate their customers to do Digital Financial transactions.
