On 7 December 2024, SARVAM, Puducherry, organised impactful training sessions for 500 students across 15 villages to instil the importance of respecting others’ feelings. The sessions aimed to nurture empathy, kindness, and emotional intelligence in students, fostering harmonious relationships within their communities. Divided into small groups, the training created an engaging and personal learning environment.
The program utilised creative and interactive methods such as songs, stories, plays, and speeches to make the sessions captivating and relatable. Role-playing and storytelling were especially effective in helping students internalise the values of understanding and respect. The inclusion of traditional songs and folklore tied the teachings to the students’ cultural roots, ensuring a deeper connection and engagement with the program.
This initiative has garnered strong support from local communities and village leaders, who appreciated its efforts to empower the younger generation with vital social skills. By promoting respect and compassion, the program seeks to create a ripple effect, cultivating a culture of empathy and understanding that extends beyond the participating students to positively impact their families and communities.
