SARVAM’s Aid Initiative for Palliative Care Patients

Date: 02-Oct-2024

Location: 14 villages

On October 2, 2024, SARVAM, an organisation based in Puducherry, extended crucial support to 25 vulnerable palliative care patients across 14 villages by distributing essential medical supplies and food kits to their families. This thoughtful initiative aimed to improve the quality of life for patients suffering from chronic illnesses, offering items such as Quadripod sticks, walkers, uro bags, Foleys catheters, and diapers based on each patient’s needs. These resources have proven to be instrumental in enhancing the mobility and comfort of the recipients.

In addition to medical aid, SARVAM provided food kits to the families, helping to alleviate their financial strain, enabling them to better focus on caregiving responsibilities. This initiative not only addressed the physical challenges of the patients but also provided emotional relief to both the patients and their families, who expressed deep gratitude for the timely support. The programme exemplified SARVAM’s commitment to uplifting the vulnerable, bringing both hope and comfort to those enduring long-term care challenges.

The palliative care patients, many of whom had limited access to such critical resources, benefited immensely from the care and attention given through these donations. By fulfilling these essential healthcare needs, SARVAM ‘s intervention has made a tangible difference, easing the day-to-day challenges faced by both the patients and their caregivers.
