On 18 June 2024, the SARVAM skill-building programme, in collaboration with CPCL, trained 40 women from eight villages in the art of creating artificial jewellery at the Satyam Community Centre in Puducherry. This initiative aimed to enhance their skills and increase their income opportunities.
The training session commenced with the trainer outlining the latest trends in artificial jewellery manufacturing, emphasising the simplicity of promoting these products both locally and online. This clear and engaging introduction sparked curiosity and confidence among the participants.
Following the initial discussions, the trainer moved on to practical teaching. Participants were provided with various materials and products that are highly sought after, such as hair clips, hair bands, and bracelets. The women eagerly engaged in the hands-on activities, showcasing great anticipation and enthusiasm. The trainer observed their inventiveness and expressed gratitude for their participation.
Additionally, the women discussed strategies for marketing their products both online and within their communities. They committed to sharing their newly acquired skills with other locals, thereby expanding the reach of the training’s benefits. The trainer assured continued support to help them grow their businesses, and the session concluded on a positive note, with the women feeling happy and empowered.
