On 13 June 2024, SARVAM Puducherry conducted a transformative workshop on self-esteem and confidence at the Satyam Community Centre. Approximately 150 women from 10 villages participated in this event, which was divided into four batches. The workshop was designed to empower participants by helping them recognise their own worth and embrace their unique abilities.
Through a series of activities and discussions, the women gained a newfound sense of self-esteem and confidence, equipping them with the tools to navigate challenges and pursue their goals with renewed determination. Key topics covered included the importance of self-trust, self-talk awareness, factors leading to loss of confidence, recognising strengths and weaknesses, and strategies to boost self-assurance for personal and professional success.
Group discussions were held on defining self-confidence, assessing current confidence levels, overcoming anxiety and self-doubt, and reinforcing positive intentions with affirmative thoughts and emotions. In addition to indoor activities, outdoor exercises provided a significant boost to the participants’ confidence.
To maintain and build upon their newfound confidence, participants were encouraged to engage in regular self-reflection, celebrate their achievements, set new goals, and challenge themselves in various aspects of life. A supportive network of friends and mentors was also recommended to provide ongoing encouragement.
By the end of the workshop, the women left with a stronger sense of self and a network of like-minded individuals, ready to take on the world with confidence.
