As part of a health awareness programme, a yoga asana and yoga mudra session was conducted for 30 women volunteers. The session aimed to enhance the well-being of participants through the practice of various hand gestures and breathing techniques. These practices can potentially reduce stress levels, increase mindfulness, improve flexibility, and enhance overall physical and mental health.

Benefits of Yoga Explained to the Participants:

-Enhances the strength of the immune system

-Helps reduce fatigue

-Relieves stress and mental tension

-Helps prevent sleeplessness

-Helps manage high blood pressure

-Eases inflammatory disorders

-Promotes a sense of calm and well-being

In addition to mudras, the trainer taught yogasanas to address specific health concerns. These yogasanas can be integrated into a daily fitness routine to improve flexibility, strength, and overall body awareness. The trainer emphasised that regular practice of yoga asanas and mudras can lead to increased physical endurance, improved posture, and reduced stress levels. Additionally, these practices can help alleviate specific health concerns such as back pain, digestive issues, and respiratory problems.

The women showed a great deal of interest in yoga and mudras, asking many questions and demonstrating their engagement in the session. They left the session confidently, equipped with new tools to manage stress and improve their physical and mental well-being. The session not only sparked immediate interest but also had the potential to leave a lasting impact on their lives by introducing them to practices that support their personal growth journey.

Moreover, the volunteers committed to spreading yoga awareness among women in their villages, aiming for positive outcomes. By empowering village women with yoga, the volunteers hope to help them manage stress, improve flexibility and strength, and enhance their overall health. Practicing yoga can also foster a sense of community and support among women, creating a positive and inclusive environment.

There was a request for more programmes like the health-related yoga session to be offered to volunteers, highlighting the session’s success and the participants’ enthusiasm for further learning.
